SCHUBERT Mass No. 6 in E-flat major
“Schubert seems to have taken the liturgical Mass off of its high pedestal and placed it squarely on earth, focusing on human emotion and our personal relationship with the divine,” writes Franz Welser-Möst. The Cleveland Orchestra is joined by The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and soloists Joélle Harvey, Daryl Freedman, Julian Prégardien, Martin Mitterrutzner, and Dashon Burton for this breathtaking piece, often considered a requiem for the composer himself.
Recorded live in Mandel Concert Hall in January 2023.
